Watch: IU And Park Bo Gum’s “When Life Gives You Tangerines” Announces Premiere Date With First Teaser
The wait is nearly over—IU and Park Bo Gum’s new drama “When Life Gives You Tangerines” will premiere soon!
“When Life Gives You Tangerines” will tell the adventurous life stories of Ae Sun and Gwan Sik as they experience the vibrant seasons of Jeju Island. IU will play the role of the bold and rebellious Ae Sun while Park Bo Gum will star as Gwan Sik, a quiet but reliable character.
The drama will be written by hit writer Lim Sang Chun of “Fight My Way” and “When the Camellia Blooms” and directed by Kim Won Seok, who previously worked on “Misaeng (Incomplete Life),” “Signal,” and “My Mister.”
The newly released poster features Ae Soon and Gwan Sik holding hands amidst a field of beautiful flowers. Ae Soon wears a school uniform that reflects the time period, while Gwan Sik is in gym clothes, creating nostalgic and youthful vibes. Furthermore, Ae Soon smiles comfortably, while Gwan Sik stands stiffly besides her, raising anticipation for their chemistry. The text, “Dedicated to you. Still blooming, always dreaming,” raises anticipation for their story that will begin to unfold this coming spring.
The teaser released along with the poster captures the breathtaking views of Jeju Island from the blooming flowers to the bustling markets, persimmon trees, and beaches, portraying the place where Ae Soon and Gwan Sik were born and raised. The two bicker from time to time, but they also share sweet moments as Gwan Sik sincerely compliments Ae Soon, “Still, you’re pretty,” inciting a shy smile from Ae Soon.
